Mark Pomper, MD
Board Certified Radiation Oncologist
Graduating with the highest honors from Dartmouth College, Dr. Pomper attended Duke University School of Medicine and graduated in 1985. He then started training in neurosurgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics but realized that his calling was in oncology so he uprooted himself and trained at the world famous Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. It was there that he met the woman of his dreams with whom he was able to build a wonderful family. Over the years, Dr. Pomper noticed that many patients were not able to receive the cancer treatment they needed due to illness or immobility issues.
Working for ten years with a physics team he was able to create and patent the concept of mobile radiation therapy in order to bring radiation treatment to the homes of these patients.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Pomper has been pursuing this dream of serving patients who otherwise would be ineligible for radiation treatments by offering patients an alternative to office or hospital visits.
From treating keloids and superficial cancers, with low energy superficial radiotherapy to high dose rate brachytherapy treatment on his mobile units, Dr. Pomper is also Cyberknife and Gamma Knife certified and has participated in thousands of such procedures treating patients with these highly refined techniques.
When Dr. Pomper has downtime he is often exercising, especially swimming, and spending time with his wonderful family.
